Role of growth conditions on the composition of halophyte and maritime plants

Propagation of the plants under study by techniques such as micropropagation axillary shoot proliferation and organogenesis;

ii

Optimization of salt concentrations to determine the most adequate conditions for plant development;

iii

Evaluation of the physical, chemical and biological activity of propagated plants, as described in Activity 4 and 6;

iv

This activity will be performed in the R&D Centre of Functional Ecology (CEF-UC) and ESAC/IPC.

At this point, it will be possible to compare the efficiency of the two systems based on defined parameters and decide which is(are) best for each plant.

Establishment of general guidelines on the optimal cultivation procedures to the different plants and their impact on the physical, chemical and biological activity of the plants.
